Faux Bois Bridge

South of the Donkey Barn, a stone-faced bridge leads visitors over the Upper Labor acequia and Water Works channel. Across Brackenridge Road from the stone bridge, the remarkable Dionicio Rodriguez Bridge, crafted in the faux bois style, spans the same waterways. Made of concrete sculpted to resemble wood, it features 33 pairs of vertical tree trunks with horizontal branches. Widely considered one of Rodriguez’s masterpieces, it’s part of a group of his works in Brackenridge Park listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
