Installed in 2011 on the Mulberry Street Bridge, Life Cycle of the Gulf Coast Toad by San Antonio artist Diana Kersey is a ceramic public art piece that illustrates the transformation of the native toad from egg to adult. Embedded in the bridge guardrails, the handcrafted panels use clay to reflect nature’s textures and vitality. Inspired by local architecture, the design incorporates a quatrefoil motif from Brackenridge Park’s Joske Pavilion, connecting the artwork to the park’s heritage and highlighting its rich biodiversity.
