One of the most recognizable sites in Brackenridge Park is Joske Pavilion. Located in a quiet loop of the river, Joske is one of the park’s signature structures. The pavilion has a distinct coursed stone structure with massive chimneys at north and south ends. The interior stone stairway with wrought iron railing takes you to a second-story balcony that overlooks the river.
Joske was built in 1926 thanks to a $10,000 bequest to the City from the estate of retailer Alexander Joske.
The structure dates from the mid 1920s to late 1930s.
This stunning open-air amphitheater was built in the 1930s and has been entertaining audiences ever since. Originally a rock quarry, it was transformed into a beautiful, sunken oasis that has hosted performances under the stars with its impressive stone walls, lush surroundings, and scenic views.
This stunning garden is available for events. Its design reflects traditional Japanese aesthetics, featuring lush landscaping, a waterfall, pagoda, koi-filled ponds, and walking paths.
