The Big Brack Bash! 125th Park-Wide Community Celebration
Nov 16 2024
Brackenridge Park Conservancy invites all of San Antonio to celebrate the park’s 125th year!
We’re recreating Brackenridge’s cherished past with “Los Viejitos” vintage car show, face painters, balloon artists, a chalk art station, riding through the low-water crossing, live music from Santiago Jimenez, Jr., food trucks, and much more.
Did you know that Brackenridge Park has evidence of human habitation going back more than 12,000 years? Stop by UTSA’s archeological station to see a collection of artifacts from the park’s storied past. The Center for Archaeological Research at the University of Texas at San Antonio is bringing the Legacy: Hands on the Past program to Brackenridge Park. Please stop by the Legacy booth to learn more about the park's artifacts and archaeology, discuss cultural preservation, and meet an archaeologist.
Then, be sure to add your own story to park archives. Office of Historic Preservation will be onsite to capture family memories of the fun in the park. Bring your photos to share.
A big thank you to our presenting sponsor, H-E-B, who will provide complimentary ice cream and snacks. You may also say hello to the H-E-B Buddy and visit the photo booth to capture a memory of the day.
