Volunteer Day – Red Oak Litter Cleanup

Join us for a park trails litter cleanup in Brackenridge Park on Saturday, November 21st to help maintain a healthy environment for people, plants, and wildlife!

We will be meeting on Red Oak Rd. in the picnic area shown below. Our focus will be litter cleanup on the walking trails and along the river. Parking is available nearby within the park. All materials will be provided (gloves, trash bags, and litter grabbers). Bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothes, sunblock, and bug spray.

Families and participants of all ages are welcome!

Join Brackenridge Park’s Conservancy Crew for an invasive bamboo removal volunteer event! Help us cut down invasive bamboo growing in the park and prepare it for re-use for the San Antonio Zoo and other community members. We will be removing the bamboo growing along Avenue B. All materials will be provided (loppers, gloves, eye protection, and knee pads). Bring a water bottle, sunblock, and bug spray. Please wear long sleeves, long pants, and close-toed shoes. Parking will be available behind The Acorn School building. 

Please Note: This event requires lifting of objects up to 20lbs in weight, kneeling on uneven ground, bending over, and navigating tripping hazards.

This event is only for participants 14 or older.

Get ready to dance under the stars! Brackenridge Park Conservancy is thrilled to partner with Sound Cream to bring the beloved Disco Alfresco series to the historic Sunken Garden Theater. Beginning Thursday, June 4, and continuing every Thursday through August 6, Disco Alfresco transforms one of San Antonio’s most iconic venues into an open-air dance floor featuring rotating DJs, themed dance parties, and unforgettable summer vibes.

Disco Alfresco is a family-friendly event with food trucks, local vendors, plenty of room to dance, and a welcoming atmosphere for all ages. Guests are encouraged to bring their own cooler and make a night of it with friends and family.

Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just looking for a fun evening out, Disco Alfresco offers the perfect mix of music, community, and summer fun in the heart of Brackenridge Park.
